According to FIH, Standards for field hockey surfaces are important that it meets the expectations of hockey players, associations and clubs. The guidelines are meant to provide industry standards for consistent and dependable quality of performance for the intended level of play.
FIH has published Facility Guidance Standards in four parts.
- Part 1 General guidance for a new hockey facility
- Part 2 Approved products with performance and durability attributes.
- Part 3 Performance and construction requirements for a hockey field.
- Part 4 Performance and construction requirements for small hockey facilities
The guidelines were developed in consultation with national associations and members of the FIH.
